How we work
The sequence is the same everywhere: eight diamond pads run in order from grit 50 to 3000 with none skipped, then locked in with crystallization. What changes by location is where we stop. - My terrazzo is decades old. Can it still be polished?
- Almost always, and old terrazzo often gives the most surprising result. What we check is how much of the top layer is left. If it is very thin, we lower the target shine so the layer is not used up.
- How is old terrazzo different from new granite?
- Old terrazzo is softer and rarely flat, so the initial grinding takes longer while the machine pressure has to stay lighter. New granite is the opposite: hard, already flat, and it is only the shine that needs chasing.
